We exist to inspire Black boys and young Black men to unleash their potential and to live a life of purpose.
As that happens, everyone benefits. No one loses!
As that happens, a lot of the challenges we see today disappear.
That has a knock on effect on the rest of society.
And, we "Transform The World"!
About us
1000 Black Boys is a Social Enterprise committed to inspiring Black boys and young Black men (10-25 years) to unleash their potential and to live a life of purpose.
We have three pillars to make this a reality. Two are currently live.
Pillar One - Our Events
We organise two types of events.
The first is our Inspiration & Empowerment Events, which give the boys, young men, their parents or guardians and those who support examples of successful people who look just like them. These events also provide access to opportunities to develop their business ideas or give them opportunities into employment or the corporate environment.
The second is our Family Events, which give parents and families who have lost children to knifecrime or youth violence a platform to be heard.
Pillar Two - Our Mentorship Programmes
Our programmes are based on the principles of Mindset, Transformation and Leadership.
We take the boys and young men on a journey of self-development and give them tools to manage their emotions, their thinking, their self-sabotage mechanism, 'Imposter Syndrome' and other inhibitors to their progress.
Pillar Three - Our Digital Platform
A platform to support parents or guardians and their children.
1000 Black Boys C.I.C
We are a Community Interest Company (C.I.C). We are not a Limited Company, we are a non for profit organisation.
There are so many negative stereotypes about Black boys and young Black men. The depiction in music, media and culture is often negative. There’s an attack on what it is to be a Black boy or a young Black man. Our goal is to transform this.
A key part of our work is building bonds between parents and their children. This allows trauma to be healed, it strengthens a really important and powerful relationship and it develops really confident children, that become confident adults and incredible leaders. We know that it takes a village to raise a child, this is us doing our part in the village.
Here is something that people often overlook or forget:
If the lives of Black boys and young Black men work, then the lives of White boys and young White men work, the lives of young Asian girls and women work, the lives of Black girls and young Black women work, the lives of older Black men and women work, the lives of older White men and women work etc. Basically, everyone’s life works. Everyone wins! Nobody loses!
